Ensembles

This is a cost effective option for smaller events, adding understated elegance to any atmosphere. 

This is a great option for intimate occasions, and particularly popular for proposals.... Who could say no?

A duo may be suitable for small to medium events and can be booked in several combinations to suit. Please note that a string duo will only offer the melody and bass line, or chordal accompaniment (if including a guitarist). 

A trio is ideal for medium sized events, typically booked with either two violins, or a viola and violin, offering a more layered sound than a string duo.

A string quartet is the standard for traditional string ensembles and has the largest range of repertoire. A traditional quartet consists of two violins, viola and cello, however more modern formulations can substitute a violin with a guitar, for additional warmth. 

Much of our contemporary repertoire has been arranged specifically for the quartet and sounds fantastic, as the quartet offers a warmer and more layered sound than a trio.

A quartet is fabulous for medium to large events, or where music is intended to be a  focal point (rather than background).   

We regularly work with fabulous vocalists, guitarists and other string (and non-string) musicians, and can work with you to create a more contemporary format, if desired.

Any of our ensembles can be amplified (subject to venue requirements) upon request.  

This makes sense in a range of contexts, including where sound may be acoustically compromised (such as an outdoor venue for a large event) or if the mood of the event simply requires a louder sound!
